Made in Japan briefly in the mid 1960's, the SG-2 was one of the first Yamaha branded electric guitars ever to hit the market. With a solid body that wears a Coral Red finish bolted to a maple neck with a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard (zero fret, 648mm scale length, 43mm nut width), it weighs 3.7kg's.
Loaded with a roller style bridge with intonate-able and height adjustable saddles, a Jaguar style tremolo system (missing the arm) and two very vibey single coil pickups (controlled by rhythm and lead circuits).
Good vintage condition as pictured although it might have had a refinish at some point as there's some blemishes to the paint that don't seem to be from the factory. The trem isn't set up and would need a new arm and maybe a new spring to function well but it has solid tuning stability it's current state. Both pickups and both tone circuits work well, the neck is straight with an adjustable truss. The frets are worn but still play smoothly.
