Japanese made in the early 1970's, this appears to be a modified model 2403 short-scale SG bass sold by Ibanez to the international market. Solid mahogany body bolted to a mahogany neck with a 20 fret rosewood fingerboard (30.5" scale length, 43mm nut width), it weighs 3.1kg's. With a vintage Shadow Germany bass humbucker in the neck position and what looks to be the original pickup in the bridge position, it's loaded with the original Japanese pots and hardware that all works as it should.
Received a refinish at some point where the Bass was lightly flame-treated before being stained and oiled in a dark brown finish. The frets are in good condition and it plays well as it sits. The truss is slightly tight but still has room for some slight adjustment.
This was one of a few basses traded in by a musician that has all his gear regularly serviced by Alan Rigg, so it's a well looked after bass.
