Made in Japan in 1977, the original BB1200 was Yamaha's flagship bass and the start of their ascent into neckthrough greatness and paved the way for the famous BB2000 and BB3000 models to be released a few years later. Solid alder body with a mahogany/maple neck and a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard (44mm nut width, 34" scale length), it weighs 4.4kg's. Loaded with the original Yamaha P style pickup controlled by master volume/tone controls and the original Yamaha bridge/tuners.
Good vintage condition as pictured, received a full professional setup and service prior to listing including a deep clean, fretboard oil, fret polish and truss adjustment. The neck is straight and the frets have life left with mild signs of use and playwear.
