1978 Fender USA Thinline Telecaster Deluxe Semi Hollowbody (Mocha Brown)
1978 Fender USA Thinline Telecaster Deluxe Semi Hollowbody (Mocha Brown)
American made in 1978, this is an incredibly nice example of a Fender Thinline Telecaster that would suit both players and collectors. Chambered two-piece alder body with the timeless "Mocha" finish bolted to a nice chunky medium D profile maple neck (42mm nut width), it weighs 3.7kg's. The guitar was recently with Frank Grubisa (one of Australia's best) for a refret including levelling the fingerboard radius to a perfect 7.25" before having some medium-jumbo frets installed and re-lacquering the board so it looks almost factory fresh.
In terms of hardware the guitar seems close to all original except for the switch tip and some new knobs. The Seth Lover wide-range humbuckers sound perfectly and the original pots and wiring have no cracking when in use. The three-bolt neck with micro-tilt system works as it should and the original F stamped tuners and hardtail bridge keep it tuned and intonated.
Very nice vintage condition as pictured with only light cosmetic wear to be seen. Overall it's been well looked after over the years, the frets are almost brand new as mentioned previously and the neck is straight with a fully functional truss rod.
