One of the rarest Greco models of the 1970's, the AK-1400 was a high end collaboration between Ace Frehley, Greco and Music Land Key. The AK-1400 was conceived after Kiss toured Japan in 1978, where Frehley visited a Music Land store and was gifted a prototype Flying V model to use on stage. Frehley and Greco then worked together to come up with the AK-1400, which was reserved for sale exclusively at Music Land stores in Japan. Only 30 AK-1400's were made in 1979 (as per the original advertisement) as they were a very high end and expensive model to manufacture.

Full neckthrough construction with a jacaranda top and back, mahogany body, mahogany/maple neck, ebony fingerboard (22 frets, 43mm nut width), this one weighs 3.3kg's. Loaded with the original KEY KX-1 humbucker (made exclusively for this guitar) in the bridge position and an aftermarket Japanese Dimarzio style humbucker in the neck position controlled by independent volume controls, a master tone control and a pair of coil split mini toggles. Loaded with the original Grover tuners and GO style bridge system as pictured.
Received a professional setup and service prior to listing and is overall in god vintage condition as pictured with no breaks or repairs. The truss adjusts as it should and the frets play well with some light pitting, the electronics were flushed and sound great.
