1981 Yamaha Japan SG1000 Double Cutaway - Modified (Black)
Considered by many as an upgrade to the standard Les Paul design, the Yamaha SG series are some of the fullest sounding guitars you'll ever play. This SG1000 is a heavily modified example as pictured and features a mahogany body with a maple cap, slim mahogany set neck and a striped ebony fretboard (12" radius, 628mm scale length, 43mm nut width).
Weighing 4.3kg's, this one has been routed for a tremolo system and a middle pickup along with a 5-way blade selector switch as well as being partially refinished to hide where the extra holes were plugged. The work appears to have been done pretty well and is all solid, not a luthier level job but a definite step up from an amateur.
Received a professional setup and service prior to listing, plays well with a straight neck and adjustable truss. Shiny frets are worn and a little flat but still have some life left.
