The Aria Pro II Elite-II is known as one of the best Japanese basses to ever come out of the Matsumoku factory. Favoured by bass legends including Cliff Burton, Jack Bruce and John Taylor, the Elite II was one of the highest end instruments in the 1984 catalog (although this one was made in early 1983, making it a very early example. It's also wearing a non-catalog finish so it could be a custom order). Alder body with a smooth maple transmit neck (and heel-less cutaway) and a rosewood 24 fret fingerboard with mother-of-pearl inlays. Weighs 4.7kg's.
Just back from a professional refret with stainless jumbo frets, our tech truly brought new life into it. The previous owner wet-sanded the finish into a dull scratchy red that our tech buffed and polished back to a glossy red (some scuffing still visible but it's a significant improvement!). There's some finish separation along the neck along the factory transmit-neck joins, no structural issues, purely cosmetic. It's got a replacement nut and the truss cover is missing along with one replacement nut, otherwise it appears original. One bridge pickup coil is non-functional otherwise the electronics are working well.
