Considered by many as an upgrade to the standard Les Paul design, the Yamaha SG series are some of the fullest sounding guitars you'll ever play. This SG-510 was released for the 1983 catalog. Weighing 3.5kg's, it's built with an agathis body, slim 60's mahogany neck and a rosewood fretboard (628mm scale length, 43mm nut width). With a very bright "Candy Tone Red" finish (as per the catalog), it appears all original.
Good used condition as pictured for an almost 40 year old guitar, has some bumps and dings as pictured along with a small headstock repair as pictured, drop-filled and smoothed so it's not jagged. With a refinish in the area you'd never know it was repaired, it only stands out as there's a sparkle silver undercoat that shines through. Given a full setup and service prior to listing including a fretboard oil, fret polish, truss adjustment and restring, frets have plenty of life.
