The RG550 was introduced by Ibanez in 1987 and was initially part of the Roadstar Deluxe series (which eventually became the RG series). Made by the Fujigen factory in Japan, they feature a basswood body, a Wizard maple neck with a 24 fret maple fingerboard and this one weighs 3.3kg's.
Heavily modified with a vintage Seymour Duncan mini humbucker in the neck position and a Dimarzio DP107 MegaDrive humbucker in the bridge controlled by a master volume knob and three-way mini toggle, this is capable of the full superstrat sound while also being able to dial back a classic tone with the Duncan. The original HSH rout means you're able to swap in a more traditional loadout if you want but we love it as it is.
Well loved condition as pictured with some stickers, bumps, bruises and dings. The frets have some light pitting and playwear but were polished prior to listing and play well with plenty of life left, the truss was adjusted and the neck is straight. This has a small crack on the back of the neck (very common on these) where the screws hold the nut in place, no movement and no structural issues, easily repaired if it bothers you.
