1991 Fender Japan TL72-500 '72 Reissue Telecaster (Black)
1991 Fender Japan TL72-500 '72 Reissue Telecaster (Black)
Made by the Fujigen factory in 1991, the TL72 was a reissue of the regular '72 model Telecaster (rather than the more famous Thinline or Custom models from that era). With a solid basswood body bolted to a slim C profile one-piece maple neck (7.25" radius, 21 frets), it weighs 3.6kg's. Loaded with the original TL-CURRENT pickups from Fender Japan, it's got a replacement tone pot/knob and some modern Japanese machine heads otherwise it appears to be factory original.
Good used condition as pictured with some basic wear from general use including some bumps to the finish, no breaks or repairs to be seen though. Given a setup and service prior to listing, the frets are worn but play smoothly and the neck is straight with a fully functional truss rod.
