Made by the Terada factory in Japan, Orville by Gibson LPC models are critically acclaimed as they offer authorised Gibson style and specs coupled with the famous Japanese craftsmanship. Genuine OBG models like this one (with the word Gibson on the headstock) are the pick of the bunch. This is the "LPS" model from the 1992 catalog featuring a mahogany body with what looks to be a rare solid carved mahogany top with a laminate flame, mahogany 60's style neck with a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard and weighs 4.5kg's.
This one has a pair of Gotoh humbuckers installed along with Japanese hardware and wiring (two replacement pots). There's also two replacement inlays that seem to be made of rubber.
Heavily used condition as pictured with plenty of wear and tear and a previously repaired headstock break that's ugly but rock solid. The neck was sanded smooth at some point too so it has a satin feel. Received a full professional setup and service prior to listing including a fretboard oil, truss adjustment, fret polish and level and electronics cleanup. The frets have some pitting but play as they sit and the neck is straight.
