1996 Epiphone Sorrento Reissue Hollowbody (Cherry Red)
1996 Epiphone Sorrento Reissue Hollowbody (Cherry Red)
Made by the famous Peerless factory in Korea (the factory responsible for some of the best Epiphone guitars ever made), this is a seldom seen Sorrento model what was produced in 1996. With a fully hollow maple body set to a nice slim mahogany neck with a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard, it weighs a very nimble 2.7kg's. Loaded with the original dog-ear P90's, tune-o-matic bridge and trap-eze tailpiece along with vintage style tuners, it appears all original with the exception of an aftermarket pickguard.
This is one of almost 50 guitars that we recently acquired from an Australian collector who kept most of his guitars safely stashed away and only used them very lightly at home.
Given a full setup and service prior to listing, it plays smoothly with a straight neck and fully adjustable truss. The frets have some light playwear but are shiny and smooth with plenty of life left.
