Tokai Talbo (Tokai Aluminium Body) guitars were introduced in 1980 and feature a solid aluminium body with a chamber underneath the pickguard. These were known for having a crystal clear clean tone that resonates beautifully both acoustically and plugged-in. Rosewood board and a maple neck, loaded with a Wilkinson 2-point tremolo system, 5-way selector controlling a pair of Bill Lawrence L250's and a Gotoh Hot Humbucker, weighs 3.8kg's.
If you're Australian and a certain age, you'll likely recognise these from their use with INXS. Nile Rodgers is rumoured to have put Tim Farriss onto Tokai’s Talbo Blazing Fire. Tim went on to use the Talbo for decades.
Well loved and used condition as pictured with some cosmetic mods as pictured but no structural breaks or repairs. Frets have some light use and were polished prior to listing along with a fretboard oil. The truss works well and the neck is straight.
