Tokai Talbo (Tokai Aluminium Body) guitars were introduced in 1980 and feature a solid aluminium body with a chamber underneath the pickguard. These were known for having a crystal clear clean tone that resonates beautifully both acoustically and plugged-in. Rosewood board and a maple neck, loaded with a 5-way selector and a trio of single coils, weighs 3.8kg's.
If you're Australian and a certain age, you'll likely recognise these from their use with INXS. Nile Rodgers is rumoured to have put Tim Farriss onto Tokai’s Talbo Blazing Fire. Tim went on to use the Talbo for decades.
Heavily used condition as pictured with cosmetic bumps and bruises to the red finish but no structural breaks or repairs. Frets have some light use and were polished prior to listing along with a fretboard oil. Truss works well and the neck is straight.
