2003 Epiphone Korea Sheraton II Deluxe Semi Hollowbody (Flamed Vintage Sunburst)
2003 Epiphone Korea Sheraton II Deluxe Semi Hollowbody (Flamed Vintage Sunburst)
Made by the famous Unsung factory in Korea in 2003, these are a significant step above the modern Chinese Epiphone models.
According to Epiphone, John Lee Hooker once described the original Sheraton as an “outdid 335” for its classic double cutaway shape, striking fingerboard inlay and elegant ivory and black binding on the top, back, neck, headstock and f-holes.
This one is no exception, built with a flamed maple top and maple body around a hefty centre-block along with a slim 60's maple/walnut neck (43mm nut width, 628mm scale length), it weighs 4.1kg's. This one appears to be all original as pictured.
This is one of almost 50 guitars that we recently acquired from an Australian collector who kept most of his guitars safely stashed away and only used them very lightly at home.
Good overall condition for it's age with only basic signs of wear and tear as pictured. Given a basic setup and service prior to listing, it's got plenty of life in the frets and a straight neck with a fully functional truss rod.
