Made in Japan in 2007, the AST-80M/DH was one of the original Aerodyne Special models from Fender that was factory loaded with Dimarzio Collection pickups. Bound basswood body, oval profile maple neck and 22 fret rosewood fingerboard (628mm scale length, 9.5" radius, 41mm nut width), it weighs 3.3kg's.
Appears to be all original with two DCS-3 single coils and a DCH-3 humbucker controlled by a 5-way selector and traditional Stratocaster wiring.
This is one of almost 50 guitars that we recently acquired from an Australian collector who kept most of his guitars safely stashed away and only used them very lightly at home.
Looks to be all original and is overall in very good cosmetic condition. Restrung and serviced prior to listing and plays and sounds great. Frets have plenty of life and play well, truss works as it should and the neck is straight.
