The PE series was an attempt to modernise the Les Paul shape and style and the Matsumoku factory put a lot of effort into making these to the best quality possible.
Made in August of 1982, our research leads us to believe that this is a special 20th Anniversary model for CroSawa Custom (a division of Kurosawa Gakki) that shares most of it's specs with the new flagship PE-200 model released in the 1983 catalog.
Gorgeous lightly flamed carved maple top with an equally beautiful maple back and a mahogany centre, slim 60's style maple/walnut neck (long tenon) and what appears to be a striped ebony fingerboard with inlays only seen on the highest end models, it weighs 3.7kg's. Loaded with a Seymour Duncan pickup set (SH-2N and SH-4 humbuckers) controlled by independent volume/tone controls and coil split/phase mini toggles.
Good overall condition as pictured with basic signs of wear for it's age but no breaks or repairs. The frets have some wear but play smoothly and were polished prior to listing, the neck is straight and the truss adjusts freely. There's some small strange glue blobs on the back of the body that are likely removable if you're careful.
